The Atlantic Caribbean Union hosted the launch of the book of the year during a special publishing service on Feb. 25. The service was held at the Breath of Life Church, located on Marshall Road. Present were representatives from two of our sister conferences in the Atlantic Caribbean Union- the Turks and Caicos, and the Cayman Islands conference.

Under the theme, “Bringing Hope into Every Home, I Will Go”, the congregation was enlightened on the importance of the publishing department in our churches and how important it is for members to take part in distribution initiatives.

Also in attendance were conference officials, inclusive of the President of the South Bahamas Conference, Pastor Kenny Deveaux, and officials of the Atlantic Caribbean Union, as President of the Union, Dr. Peter Kerr led a brief ceremony to dedicate the missionary book of the year, The Great Controversy by Ellen G. White.

According to Kerr, The Great Controversy is a book that greatly expounds on end-time developments and should be in every Adventist home.

“We desire that every Adventist read this book and redistribute this book,” he said.

“The church at the World Headquarters have designated two years for us to distribute it,” Kerr added.

Guest speaker, and President of the Inter-American Division Publishing Association (IADPA), Saul Ortiz, turned to the book of Judges as he spoke on the topic of Samson and Delilah. Ortiz encouraged us through Samson’s story to never separate ourselves from God.

As The Great controversy is distributed throughout the rest of the year, let each of us do our part and carry hope into every home.
