On April 17, a flock of excited students from Bahamas Academy’s Iconic Class of 2025, accompanied by their dedicated chaperones, eagerly embarked on a much-anticipated class trip to Atlanta, Alabama, and Tennessee. This journey provided insights into higher education and deepened their understanding of faith-based learning environments.

The group attended First Church in Alabama, where they were captivated by a soul-stirring message delivered by Pastor Jason North. The welcoming host pastor, Dr. William Lee, received a token of appreciation from Ms. Andrea Cartwright, the dedicated chief class sponsor, Mrs. Sharon St. Brice, and the Iconic class representatives. Juliette Sands, the South Bahamas Education Director, shared heartfelt remarks and expressed gratitude for the warm reception extended to the class.

The seniors devoted hours on April 23 at the Chattanooga Food Bank. They worked tirelessly, packaging food items, cleaning, and restocking, contributing significantly to the community.  The students sorted five pallets of donated products. Made emergency food boxes for 261 families and packaged 305 bags for the hunger relief conference.

The students visited Oakwood University, where each student was offered scholarships ranging from an impressive $88,000 to $30,000. At Southern University, students were given a glimpse into their potential futures, experiencing a bird’s-eye view of campus life. Divided into their respective career interests, they engaged in insightful discussions about various programs of study. A highlight of the Oakwood visit was meeting Pastor Debleaire Snell, the renowned speaker from Breath of Life Ministries. The students' minds were stretched at the US Space and Rocket Center, where they were awestruck by the dynamics of aerospace and the physics of space travel.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our head sponsor, Mrs. Sharon St. Brice, whose tireless efforts made this trip both enjoyable and successful, and to Mr. Gary Jones, for his invaluable assistance. Gratitude is also extended to the following chaperones: Dr. LaVonda Smith, Mrs. Juliette Sands, Mrs. Tamieka Fawks, Mrs. Keisha Tinker, Ms. Racquel Elliott, Mrs. Alree Price, Ms. Leante Lloyd, Mrs. Monique Hepburn, Ms. Lathera Knowles, Mr. Earl Thomas, Mr. Obed Datus, Mr. Carlton Reddock, and Mr. Curtis Bryan.

Above all, the Iconic class expresses their deepest gratitude to Almighty God for His guidance, protection, and unwavering presence throughout their journey.
