From April 20–21, 2026, leaders and departmental representatives gathered for the ATCU Departmental Advisory under the theme “Grounded in the Bible, Focused on the Mission.” The two-day meeting served as a time of spiritual renewal, strategic alignment, and a renewed call to mission across the union. The Advisory brought together the four territories of the Union- the South and North Bahamas Conferences, the Cayman Island Conference, and the Turks and Caicos Islands Conference.

The advisory opened with a devotional session led by the Union President, who introduced the union-wide initiative known as Mission RISE—an acronym representing Renewal with God, Identity in Christ, Service in Unity of the Spirit, and Evangelism for All.

Dr. Jongimpi Papu, Associate Secretary of the Ministerial Association at the General Conference and editor of Ministry Magazine, delivered the devotional thought. Dr. Papu reminded attendees of the victorious foundation of the Christian faith. He emphasized that Christ’s mission was not only to defeat evil in heaven but to secure victory on earth through His life, death, and resurrection.

During the plenary session, Dr. Papu challenged leaders to rethink the role of mission and evangelism.

“As missionaries,” he explained, “we must look for the footprints of God in our communities and connect with them. You did not bring God—God brought you.” This perspective, Papu shared, reframes mission as a divine partnership.

During the remaining time, the departmental representatives went into their various breakout rooms to discuss best practices, regional challenges, and opportunities for innovation. The Union focused on strengthening collaboration between departments and conferences so that ministry efforts remain coordinated and impactful throughout the Atlantic Caribbean territory.
