On May 30, Men from around the conference spearheaded worship services in their local churches to celebrate Men’s emphasis Day under the theme, Empowered by Christ. The day served as a reminder of the importance of spirit-led men in churches, communities and homes. As a part of the service, several of the churches also honored faithful men by presenting them with awards named after biblical figures:

  • The Joshua Award for courage and leadership.
  • The Caleb Award for steadfastness.
  • The David Award for worship
  • The Daniel Award for Integrity
  • The Paul Award for mentorship and discipleship
  • The Barnabas Award Faithful Service
  • And the Timothy Award for emerging young leader

The celebrations continued with the Adventist Men’s Chorale Concert that was held at the Hillview Church on June 06. The program featured musical selections from the Adventist Men’s Chorale under the directorship of Nelson Bain, and various musicians from men young and old in our conference. One of the moving moments of the evening was the personal testimony shared by Randy Johnson. Johnson shared his journey on faith and trust in God through his health trials.

The devotional charge was delivered by President of the South Bahamas Conference, Pastor Kenny Deveaux, who urged the men to stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong, and do everything in love.

The concert concluded with a pinning ceremony for all past and present local church Men’s Ministry Directors.
