As part of the 50th independence celebrations, the Bahamas Gospel Honors service was held on July 16, at the Myles Munroe Diplomat Center. During the event, Awards were distributed to 50 gospel recording Artists. Among those awarded was Allison M. Rolle, multi-awarded singer, recording artist, and founder of the Eagle Music Ministry Network. 

She also opened the honors service with her legendary rendition of the National Anthem. 

Also awarded at the Gospel Honors was award-winning gospel artist and songwriter, the Late Vanessa Clarke. Clarke’s music was used to minister to various denominations and communities, and it was often heard on Word SBC 88.3 fm. She was also a member of Harmonious Praise, a melodious group that was formed out of a week of prayer initiative in the Adventist church in 1997. 

Clarke passed days before the event but was honored for her contributions to the gospel music community in The Bahamas
