On October 22nd, the Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture hosted its 2022 Nominee Medal Ceremony for exceptional youth from across the Bahamas. The ceremony was held at the government house under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency the Most Honourable Cynthia Pratt, Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and the Honourable Mario Bowleg, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture.

More than 90 outstanding nominees were recognized for their achievements in areas such as Community Volunteerism, Education, Religion, and Leadership. Among the nominees were youth of the South Bahamas Conference.

Grant’s Town Church’s J’vari Bowe and Bethany Barr were among those recognized as Rising Stars Centreville Church Youth, Ashlee Hanna, was nominated for her Community Volunteerism. Joshua Stewart of the Grant’s Town Church was nominated for his impact through music, and Kezia Johnson represented Bluff Church in Eleuthera for her involvement in the Environment.

We congratulate these nominees for their service in their respective areas. National Youth Month concluded with a march on November 2 beginning from the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium. The march was led by the South Bahamas Conference Pathfinder organization, including its band, Adventurers, Pathfinders, and Master Guides. We look forward to seeing how our youth will continue to impact their community for Christ.
