On May 23, the Children’s and Adolescents Ministries Department officially launched its new Children’s and Adolescents Tithe Envelope initiative, at the Living Faith Church, aimed at teaching CHAM kids the importance of stewardship and trusting God with their resources.

Greetings at the event were brought by Elder Okell Damastus Treasurer of the South Bahamas Conference who also shared a brief overview of how the envelopes became available.

“This collaboration between CHAM and Stewardship… has been over a year in the making, and I can tell you they worked exceedingly hard at the design, trying to source the vendor, and to get it here and to get it inside your hand. And I must say that on behalf of the administration, we are extremely excited,” Damastus shared.

Guest speaker Pastor Lee Burrows led an interactive and practical training session for children, adolescents, and parents in attendance. Throughout the presentation, he emphasized the biblical purpose of tithing, the value of stewardship, and the importance of developing a spirit of generosity from a young age.

Pastor Burrows also shared why stewardship is important.

Burrows said, “God loves a cheerful giver. And this is what I want us to learn. So in our envelope…It says my gift to Jesus because I love and trust him. The first thing in stewardship is we must trust Jesus.”

“Everything we have is because of Jesus. Jesus is our all and all. So whatever we have is Jesus’ property,” he added.

Using relatable examples, Pastor Lee encouraged the young ones to understand that while it can sometimes be easy to hold on tightly to what we have, God calls His people to be faithful and generous.

During the program, Pastor Valentino Campbell, Stewardship Director, officially presented the new tithe envelope with a special prayer of dedication for the initiative. After the dedicatory prayer, an official envelope was presented to the South Bahamas Conference accepted by Elder Damastus.

The evening served as both a teaching moment and a spiritual investment into the next generation, as children and adolescents were encouraged to trust God fully with every resource He has placed in their hands.
