The South Bahamas Conference welcomes Pastor Manasseh Simms as he begins his service as the new youth director for this territory. Simms was introduced officially to the youth organization on June 29th, 2024 during the youth evangelistic series Ignite, by former youth director Pastor Jamal Franklyn, Pastor Kent Price, representative of the Atlantic Caribbean Union, and Pastor Leonardo Rahming, executive secretary of the South Bahamas Conference, who shared with the congregation the process of selecting the new youth director.

Rahming said, "We asked the youth leaders who they wanted to serve as the youth director. They gave us many names, they voted on them, and the person who was selected to replace pastor Jamal Franklyn is pastor Manassah Simms. We could have gone as the administrators and chosen anybody, but because we respect our youth leaders in our local churches, we asked them and they decided who they wanted, and we worked along with the program. We want you to know that we are cooperating with you. We are cooperating with you, and we work together as a team."

Pastor Price who served as youth director of the Atlantic Caribbean Union for 6 years, advised Simms to show support for the youth in the conference through kindness and love.

Price expressed, "No one that is called to youth ministry should be a person who hates youth and who hates children. You must love them in spite of. There is no prejudice, there’s no racism in youth ministry. We are all one in the spirit, one in the Lord.”

During the service, Simms shared his gratitude with the youth for this new venture in joining the youth department team.

Simms shared, "I am extremely excited, but humbled that I have been appointed for such a time as this. I am excited to see what God is going to do in the youth department, as we continue this time together, and I’m looking forward to working intently with each and every one of you. From all churches, from all islands, even those who are older youth, because I believe that God has a mighty work to do here in the South Bahamas Conference.”

Simms officially began his service on August 1st, 2024, and has traveled with the Pathfinders to the International Camporee for his first assignment as youth director.  Pastor Simms along with his wife Children and Adolescent Ministries Director Kenisha Simms are graduates of Northern Caribbean University and together the couple have served in numerous churches including the Eleuthera and Exuma district, and Parkgate churches.
