The Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church ended its “Fit for Life” Health Initiative on August 24th, marking a week where church members and the local community were involved in health activities. Running from August 18th through the 24th, the Health Emphasis Week saw persons engaged in group workouts, daily devotions, and health talks, all aimed at promoting spiritual, mental, and physical health.

Each day of the week offered a different health focus and exercise lineup. Pastor of the Ephesus Church Manasseh Simms shares now how the week went.

Simms said, "The Health Evangelistic Initiative at the Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church, ‘Fit for Life’ was the name, it was a blast. We had presentations on nutrition, on sleep, on hygiene, and oral health. We talked about mental health, we talked about stress relief. It was amazing, especially because we capped off every evening with physical activity. Instructor Raynard is the best, he took people whether they were short and tall, thin or wide, whether they were young or old, and we all engaged in good activity to end every evening so that we can continue our journey of being 'Fit for Life'. It was a blast and I thank God for the experience, and I know that the Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church and the wider Kemp Road community has been enriched by this experience."

Free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose were offered, helping participants understand their health and take steps to improve it.

Throughout the week, members and community participants expressed their delight with the program and are eagerly anticipating future events and health initiatives.
