The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18- 20) details where we are to go, and later in Acts 1:8 the command once again tells us that the Gospel would not be curtailed only to a portion of the world, to a people, or a tongue, but that empowered by Christ and His Spirit, the disciples presently there and those who would come in the future, would further it to the ends of the world. This message has also been committed to the remnant church and until the end of time. The three angels’ message says to ‘go forth, with the everlasting Gospel, to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people’ (Revelation 14:7).

In obedience to this command, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has gone into all the world, reaching people in every part of the world, in every language, and to every race as presented in the Word. Thus, the church is currently in more than 200 countries, which encompass hundreds of languages, dialects, and tongues.

As you read this you may be looking at your church and wondering perhaps how this applies to you. Well, God has brought people from all over the world to our different communities. We have Hispanics, Chinese, Filipinos, Arabs, folks from other Caribbean countries, Africans, etc. This means that around your church, your homes, in your workplaces, God brings you in contact with people from every part of the earth.

Also, the advances in technology and the 'new normal' that the pandemic brought, make us even closer to people from all parts of the world. Your church might include people from other countries as a result of you reaching out evangelistically. Right now, throughout the South Bahamas Conference, several evangelistic campaigns are happening. Most of them are virtual. This is another way that God is showing us that the gospel will go forth with great power.

However, the reality still is that many have not been reached as yet. Therefore, you and I are called to see no barriers and bring the Gospel to those around us. You may be thinking - but how?

There are several ways that you can take the Gospel beyond culture and color and into communities:

Through technology. It’s impossible to list in detail everything you can do for God via social media, virtual platforms, and technology. You just have to decide right now to fill the virtual space with God’s message.

Deciding to be a missionary. Yes, in 2021 there are places where Jesus’ name is not known. You can accept God’s calling to serve Him where there is no Adventist presence and be part of tearing down walls for the Gospel to enter and save.

Be a missionary in your community. No, I am not kidding. Right there in your community, as we mentioned earlier, you can reach all the different people, races, colors, ethnicities. You can even be the first church with a Local Missionary Institute, where the youth and adults alike learn how to do intercultural missions.

I have great news for you. All the above can start in your life, right now. This weekend as a World Church, during Global Youth Day, we celebrate this going forth of the Gospel to all by the grace of God. And we are proclaiming that God’s good news can overcome any barriers, so mobilize your church, and don’t miss out.

I don’t want you to forget that the greatest sign of the coming of Jesus is what He said in Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (NKJV). Be ready and get others ready because Jesus is coming soon. Go beyond cultures and colors and into your communities.
