The theme for Global Youth Day 2022 is ¨Loving The Forgotten.¨ “Global Youth Day” started on March 13, 2013, under then GC Youth Director Dr. Gilbert Cangy. ¨The vision of GYD is to recapture the reality of Adventist Youth as a global movement mobilized for service, contributing to the proclamation of the everlasting gospel and ushering in the second coming of Jesus Christ. Grounded in the concluding words of Jesus in the parable of the Good Samaritan, “Go and do likewise” (Luke 10:25-37).¨ www.gcyouthministries.org Global Youth Day engages youth and senior members to fulfill the I Will Go strategic initiative of the World Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Why go?
“As we wait for and hasten the coming of the day of God.”2 Peter 3:12 ESV “It is the privilege of every Christian, not only to look for, but to hasten the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Christ’s Object Lessons, 69

How to go?
“My brethren and sisters, visit those who live near you, and by sympathy and kindness seek to reach their hearts. Be sure to work in a way that will remove prejudice instead of creating it. And remember that those who know the truth for this time and yet confine their efforts to their own churches, refusing to work for their unconverted neighbors, will be called to account for unfulfilled duties.” Testimonies, vol. 9, pp.34, 35

Who can go?
“Every youth, every child, has a work to do for the honor of God and the uplifting of humanity.” Education, p.58

  • “Every son and daughter of God is called to be a missionary; we are called to the service of God and our fellow men; and to fit us for this service should be the object of our education.” MH 395.1
  • “Every true disciple is born into the kingdom of God as a missionary.” The Desire of Ages, 195.

Global Youth Day has expanded to include Global Children’s Day. Today, children, youth and adults across the South Bahamas Conference, will minister all manners of selfless acts of kindness, community service and mission projects in their neighborhoods and communities. That point a desperately needy world to the ultimate hope of the better world Jesus has made possible for us. By being the hands and feet of Jesus to humanity, we answer the call to go! I Will Go! Will you?
