The South Bahamas Conference Children’s and Adolescent Ministries Department (CHAM) hosted a children’s choir workshop on March 25, and 26. The workshop was a collaborative effort with the Music Ministries Department at the Centreville Seventh-day Adventist Church. Children's choir leaders, and more than 120 children from different churches participated in the two-day training workshop.

According to CHAM Director Kenisha Simms, the workshop was a way to focus on the skills of the children in the churches. “We have discovered some dedicated and gifted and blessed princes and princesses with such melodious voices", Simms said

The event's music clinician was JoPaul Scavella, who covered a variety of topics including singing with proper technique, how to care for your voice, choir etiquette, ear training, music score basics and how to connect with what you are singing.

At the workshop, the children also learned two songs, which Scavella said is a great accomplishment for such a short time. According to Scavella, the workshop will serve as the pillar for a mass children's choir for the conference. “They will be premiering both of these pieces at our upcoming convention,” Scavella said.
