The Francophone, Ebenezer, and Bethel Adventist churches celebrated Haitian Flag Day with a special AY service held at the Hillview Adventist church. The service highlighted the country’s rich history, culture and resilience. In attendance were Pastor Terry Tannis, Youth Director of Atlantic Caribbean Union, South Bahamas Conference President, Pastor Kenny Deveaux, Personal Ministries Director Pastor Wilson Isnord, and Youth Director Pastor Jamal Franklyn.

One of the presenters of the evening expressed the importance of events like Haitian Flag Day to foster unity and understanding among different communities. The AY service also included testimonies and drama as the youth shared their personal experiences as Adventists with Haitian roots in The Bahamas.

Moise Abroite, pastor of the three Haitian Creole-speaking churches here in New Providence, urged the young people to invest in education and work hard for success, emphasizing the importance of making wise choices today to shape a better tomorrow.

Abroite said, “God will bless the efforts that you make, and you will be successful. Your life can be hard today, if you have a plan for tomorrow your life could be easy.”

Pastor Tanis concluded the service with a prayer for Haiti and the attendees.
