In a night filled with celebration, reflection, and renewal, churches across the South Bahamas Conference hosted their New Year's Eve service on Sunday, December 31, 2023. The services brought together the Adventist community, through songs of praise, testimonies, and prayers to usher in the new year with hope, gratitude, and spiritual rejuvenation.

At the Hillview Church, Pastor Leonardo Rahming encouraged those present to continue to press forward in faith in God. Looking back, he said, can be disadvantageous for the Christian if our eyes are not focused on Christ.

He said, "Sometimes we as the people of God don't allow people to forget where they have fallen. We keep it in their face all the time. There are days in our lives when we are going to fall, but when we fall we don't stay down. We must depend on Jesus to lift us up, we must depend on Jesus to raise us to where we belong."

The members of the Johnson Park church participated in a final communion service for the 2023 year. During his sermon, Pastor Jamal Franklyn reminded the congregation that no matter what trials will come in 2024 Jesus has already won the victory.

Franklyn said, "If you're in Jesus the army that Jesus commands is already at your disposal. That's why it is so important to be in Jesus"

According to Pastor Franklyn, Christians must constantly submit themselves to God completely, who will provide us with the strength to stand against Satan.

He continued, "When you submit yourself to God you know that greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. You can't go into 2024 easily intimidated by the enemy when God has already given you the power to overcome the enemy. It just doesn't add up."

Church members were encouraged by the services to approach the new year with unwavering faith, while spreading love throughout their community.
