Last year, on December 13th, 2026, the South Bahamas Conference welcomed two new pastors to the members. Pastor Colin and Janice Thorne were installed at the Centreville Church. During the installation service, led by South Bahamas Conference President Pastor Kenny Deveaux, the elders and church family pledged their support, promising to create an environment where the gospel could set the community “ablaze for Jesus Christ.”

In his first sermon as pastor, Dr. Thorne emphasized that service must be rooted in intentional, reciprocal love—a love that originates in God and flows through individuals out toward their community. He declared, “The amazing love of God awakens an affirming response that is manifested in love for each other.”

At the Anatol Rogers Gym, Bethel, Ebenezer and Francophone church members gathered to welcome Pastor Ernst Prince and his family. The installation service was led by South Bahamas Conference Executive Secretary, who along with the elders of the three churches prayed over the pastoral family. The church members also prepared various tokens of appreciation for the family.

Pastor Prince delivered his inaugural sermon to the members reminding them of the importance of unity. Pastor Prince also commended the members of their continued commitment to God.

The installation of the two pastors marks a new chapter for Centreville, Bethel, Ebenezer, and Francophone churches as they move forward in faith and fellowship.
