Bahamas Academy continues to produce outstanding students as seen in this year's High school Honors Convocation service. Under the theme, “Anchored in Christ,” more than 100 students received recognition on October 13th, for their academic achievements in the past school year. Those students who sat the national examinations also received their BJC and BGCSE certificates.

Beyond academic achievements, the school also awarded students for displaying an honest spirit and good conduct along with having school spirit.

According to South Bahamas Conference Education Director, Anthony Burrows, Bahamas Academy seeks to strive beyond academic excellence, ensuring that each child is instilled with values that will make proper citizens for this life and the life to come.

Guest speaker, Atlantic Caribbean Union Youth Director Pastor Terry Tanis, shared with the students the importance of being anchored in Christ during their academic tenure.

Tanis said, "We need something or someone that remains stable. When challenges all around us begin to feel so unpredictable, and for some of us it means we cannot control the circumstances. We need someone that is consistent, we need someone that is stable, and where there is a guarantee. Of course today, we are here to celebrate in Honor's Convocation because someone was consistent, someone was reliable, someone was faithful to us from the past to this moment in time. I believe today that, that is Jesus Christ.

During the service, a moment of silence was also held for Bahamas Academy student Timonaee Gibson who passed away. She was described as a beacon of life at the school.
