The Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture held its annual National Youth March on October 22nd, which was led by our dynamic Pathfinder band. The band has become a significant staple of the march having led out over 8 times. Following the band were over 100 Pathfinder and Masterguide representatives from the various churches in New Providence.

Following the pathfinders were the students of the White Dove organization which was founded by Randy Johnson a proud member of the Living Faith church.

He said, "The White Dove organization is committed to inspiring young boys and girls spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically. Helping them to reach their full potential."

For Johnson, participating in this year’s march was an important milestone to celebrate.

"I've just had major surgery, not so long in Havana, Cuba. And this is my first time being able to walk like this in about 3-4 years. So I'm thankful to God for being able to move about. His mercy is so good to me, and I'm so grateful for it."

Johnson is a strong advocate for youth and women and believes in equipping these groups with the necessary training to defend themselves.

He said, "November 26th -30th, we'll be doing a self defence seminar, for mainly women, christian women, because they are being harassed all over the place, they are being looked at as just a piece of meat. You can register at the Police College, or at the Living Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church."

The South Bahamas Conference’s oldest living and serving Masterguide, Glorian Storr also participated in the march. She is the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Honouree for the Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture.

Storr said, "I was a Masterguide for about 30 years or more. I have a nephew, grand nephew, and grand nieces... I would say to them, to put Christ first in their life, and pray everyday, and He will help them."
