The 2025 8 Weeks to Wellness program concluded on April 28, with a graduation service for 50 individuals at the Hillview Church. This year, the focus was on diabetes, a major health concern in The Bahamas.  Present at the graduation were the Bahamas Association of Diabetes Educators’ president, Phillip Duncombe, and the Bahamas Diabetes Association Vice President, Shamal Forbes, along with representatives of the Adventist Health Professionals Association (AHPA) and Adventist Laymen’s Services and Industries Bahamas Chapter.

The program's moderator was Former AHPA president, Jorjette Bain, who commended those who completed the program.

Bain said, “You are the evidence that when we commit to personal growth, the results are life-changing and contagious.”

Audley Mitchell, ASI Bahamas Trustee, delivered the devotional thought, reminding those in attendance to continue practicing what they learned during the 8-week program for God’s glory.

Mitchell said, ‘Put it in practice in your life because the best sermon is a life well-lived, isn't it right, so put it into practice in your life and then be a teacher to others.”

The service also featured inspiring testimonies from some of the participants about the impact of the 8-week program on their health. Serkeitha Meadows, Education Officer and AHPA member, gave the program's final presentation, providing information on diabetes and eye health.

According to Shandera Smith, Health Ministries Director of the South Bahamas Conference, future 8-week wellness programs will continue to focus on noncommunicable diseases that are prevalent in the country. We thank the health ministry’s department, organizers, and volunteers who continue to share the gospel through health outreach programs.
