Logos for August 1 2020--Family Pain - When Relationships Are All We Have. I cherish the love of the father as depicted in the parable of the lost son (Luke 15:11-32). The sermons I’ve heard about it leave a permanent impression of a welcoming love that never gave up—either for the son who had gone or the one who stayed home. Over the years this parable has impressed me as I keep discovering aspects relating to the father, the prodigal, and the elder son.

Logos for July 25, 2020--Unpacking "Let's Talk About Him". While the nations of the world struggle with the Covid-19 pandemic, many persons find themselves wrestling with the toxic experiences of fear, anxiety, loneliness, and anger. As the pandemic rages on, and millions of people become infected around the world; an opportunity has presented itself for a conversation about Jesus that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of people in the Bahamas.

Logos for July 18, 2020--Hurricane Preparedness. Disasters can happen at anytime and anywhere, and when it strikes, you may not have sufficient time to respond. Families are able to cope best with emergencies by devising a plan in advance and working together before a disaster strike. The adage is still valid, "an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure." During the past 2 to 3 months, the South Bahamas Conference Disaster Preparedness Committee has been in meetings to discuss and devise plans in preparation for the 2020 hurricane season.

Logos for July 11, 2020--A Prayer For The Bahamas. Almighty God, you created us in Your own image and likeness: we thank you for all warriors in our history who have contended against evil and fought fearlessly for our freedom. Help us to reverently use our freedom responsibly that justice, equality and fair play might be manifested and maintained in our Bahamas and within and among all nations. We confess our failure, throughout these forty years of nation hood, to fully reveal your image and likeness. Drugs, crime, violence and broken homes still lurk on every hand.

Logos for July 4, 2020--Keeping Our Children Safe Online. The Convention on the Rights of the Child, of which The Bahamas is a signatory, speaks directly to a child’s right to protection, guidance, information, and privacy. With regard to information and privacy, a balance must be maintained and any action regarding children must be done in their best interest. It is against this backdrop that this article speaks.The world continues to advance technologically. The information on the world-wide web is so vast, books are practically obsolete. It affords great opportunities for learning, for research, for socializing, for entertainment, and so many other positive things. It is hard to imagine how we lived so long without it.
