As the Youth Ministries Department seeks to Elevate the lives of youth spiritually, socially, emotionally, financially, evangelistically, and academically, we believe in following the examples of Joseph, Moses, Daniel, the 3 Hebrew Boys, and Esther. They were all educated and excelled at bringing Glory to God on public and secular campuses. “At that time Moses was born, and he was no ordinary child. For three months he was cared for by his family. 21 When he was placed outside, Pharaoh’s daughter took him and brought him up as her own son. 22 Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.” Acts 7:20-22

This Sabbath is Public Campus Ministry Day, and it is designed to afford young adult SDA students and faculty on these campuses a chance to get together and focus on learning long-term strategies to grow their faith, stay connected with their local church, and share their faith with others. PCM Day is a global program celebrated at the local church level. It helps to instill and foster deep spiritual growth and effectiveness, as well as encourage sustainable long-term strategies, not short-term fixes.

In particular, PCM Day is designed to:

Connect the Local Church with Adventist students and staff on Public Campuses.

Increase visibility and function of the PCM Leader at the Local Church.

Encourage Local Church Members to support students in their academic journey.

Encourage Local Church Members to support staff on their professional journey.

Encourage Students and Staff to “GO” using the method of Jesus.

Inspire Adventist students and staff to increase their Commitment to Christ.

 Summer Youth Revival:

As we gear up for our summer youth revival, we invite each church to be intentional to invite your youth and their friends to be Ignited for Mission!

“Young men and young women…as soldiers of Christ enlist in the work, putting all your tact and skill and talents into the Master’s services, that you may save souls from ruin…” General Conference Bulletin, April 19, 1901, par. 1

“Youth must be taught how to labor for the Master. They must be trained, disciplined, drilled, in the best methods of winning souls to Christ.” Gospel Workers, p. 210.1

“I saw that many souls might be saved if the young were where they ought to be,” Messages to young people, p. 206.

 Youth Month:

Our 8th annual youth month is July. An initiative for mentorship in ministry and mission by the senior members of the church to the youth and young adults. “Youth should be integrated into responsible leadership and in all lines of church work. As young elders, deacons, and deaconesses, for example, they can work with and learn from experienced officers.” Church Manual, Page 105

Many local church youth ministries will hold revivals, forums, mission outreach projects, and social media discipleship challenges with the objective of increasing the power of God’s grace to the world. Support your youth, pray for your youth, attend their events, and be less critical and more missional. “The church is languishing for the help of youth who will bear a courageous testimony, who will with their ardent zeal stir up the sluggish energies of God’s people, and so increase the power of the church in the world.” Messages to Young People, p.24
