Logos for February 29, 2020--'I Want My Church To Care'. Imagine with me a church. Upon arrival, you’re greeted with unrivalled gardens and breathtaking   architecture. Upon entry the carpets are soft as clouds, pews envelop you in comfort and your ears are soothed by the sounds of an impeccable sound system. The bulletins are perfect, the baptismal pool fragrant and the décor a sight to behold. With all this beauty and cosmetic appeal, you note the pews are empty and the church is dead. The question is why?

Logos for February 22, 2020--Wills: A Promise. In the 9th chapter of the book of Hebrews, the Apostle Paul  skillfully  draws upon the legal concepts of wills and testaments to explain the spiritual mechanism of Salvation to his readers. Simply put, Paul demonstrates that just as a will represents a promise that was made by a person before his death, so was a promise made by God to mankind after Adam had sinned. Similarly, just as the testator must die for the beneficiary to receive the benefits of the will, so must Jesus have died for mankind to receive the benefits of salvation.

Logos for February 15, 2020--God's Love Letter. he Bible is God’s love letter. John 3:16 is a favorite text for many:  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.” Yet it’s so easy to depersonalize the love of God. We may think, God loves the world. But does He love me, or does He simply love humanity in general? We may see God as distant, who does not often enter into a direct, personal relationship with us. And when He does, we may see His interaction as judgmental, demanding, cold, precise, and detached.

Logos for February 8, 2020--Family Life-Ways to Support Your Pastor's Spouse. Years ago, the spouse of a pastor was a female. However, over the years this has changed to include male spouses. Despite, the gender, the role of a pastor’s spouse can often be a lonely and challenging one. It can also be a daunting experience for those newcomers just entering the ministry alongside their husbands/wives. The pastor’s spouse may often have a feeling of exclusiveness from the membership because of his/her connection to the pastor.
