The Seventh-day Adventist Church believes and embraces the biblical teaching of the priesthood of all believers. Yes, the church believes that every member of the body of Christ has been gifted and empowered by Christ, through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit to contribute effectively to the growth and advancement of God’s work here on earth.

Here in the South Bahamas Conference, the theme “Commissioned for Mission” continues to motivate and inspire both, the Pastors and the laity to seek Christ’s empowerment through daily communion with Him and the study of His word to be able to share Christ with conviction and passion.

Today is the Lay Pulpit Exchange Sabbath. As such, lay preachers across the South Bahamas Conference will be in some of our churches, sharing Christ with the people of God. This is what Lay pulpit exchange involves.  We are confident that God will especially use His servants to be a blessing to His people through the spoken word.

I want to personally express special thanks and appreciation to our lay preachers for their willingness to leave their local congregations to share the message of Salvation in another church environment. Zachariah 4:6 offers a divine promise you can cling to “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts”.

I pray that this promise becomes a reality in your life today. May the Holy Spirit fall fresh upon each of you as you stand in the sacred desk to deliver God’s message of hope to God’s special people on God’s Holy day.

All the best and do have a Spirit-filled lay pulpit exchange Sabbath.
