During its monthly meeting on March 27th, 2025, the South Bahamas Conference Retirees Association engaged in their community service effort in the area of the Philadelphia church. Twenty-three of its members participated in the distribution of forty-five (45) loaves of bread to residents of the community also, they distributed Priorities magazines.

The bread was gladly received, and the members had meaningful interactions with the residents contacted. Many of them were aware of the church in their community and some had previously attended an Adventist church, and others showed interest and made plans to attend a service at the church.

On Sabbath, March 29th, 2025, the group, dressed in their sabbath attire engaged in their first visit at the new providence church on soldier road where they were welcomed. Our vice president, Dr. John Carey gave remarks on behalf of our president, Rowena Smith and the group. He outlined a brief history of the association and stated its goals and objectives. Sis Laurie Bullard presented a very colorful children's story. Bro. Colin Francis, our public relations officer read the scripture.

The entire group sang a selection, "seeking the lost". Dr. Carey led the base which was clearly heard and appreciated according to the response of the congregation. We enjoyed the singing of the congregation and listened attentively to the pastor’s sermon on the sanctuary. We then presented 15 loaves of bread to the community service leader to be given out to the needy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit; it was an inspiring experience, and we await in eager anticipation as we make plans for our next church visit.
