Mission Refocus Weekend

In the heart of the South Bahamas Conference, the call to mission resonates louder than ever. As we reflect on the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20, we are reminded of our divine mandate: to go forth, make disciples of all nations, and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This weekend, we are blessed to welcome two distinguished leaders of our global church—Dr. Erton Kholer, Executive Secretary of the General Conference, and Dr. Leonard Johnson, Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Division. Their presence is a powerful reminder of our shared mission and commitment to spreading the Gospel.

As members of the South Bahamas Conference, we are not just participants in our faith but commissioned for the mission. This mission transcends our local congregations and extends to every corner of the world, as echoed in Revelation 14:6-12. The three angels’ messages call us to proclaim the everlasting Gospel, urging us to fear God and give glory to Him. This is a clarion call for all of us—leadership and membership alike—to engage in discipleship and evangelism actively.

This Sabbath, we invite every member to gather at Hillview Church for two impactful presentations by Dr. Kholer and Dr. Johnson. Their insights will inspire us and equip us with the tools necessary to advance our mission. Worshiping with our world leaders is a unique opportunity to deepen our commitment to discipleship. Their messages will encourage us to refocus our efforts and renew our passion for sharing Christ’s love with those around us.

Moreover, from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, we are hosting a training session for all local church board members and the conference's executive committee. This training is crucial as it aims to strengthen our understanding of effective ministry and leadership within our church communities. It is a chance for us to come together, learn, and strategize how best to fulfill our mission in a changing world.

Let us embrace this weekend as a pivotal moment in our faith journey. As we gather to support our world leaders and commit to training for effective ministry, let us remember that each of us has a role to play in the great mission of the church. Together, we can make a lasting impact, advancing the cause of Christ in the South Bahamas and beyond. Join us in this mission refocus weekend as we seek to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
