A Happy and Prosperous New Year to all!!

About two months ago, I shared with you our vision for the South Bahamas Conference. As we embark upon this New Year that we have been gifted, I want to remind you of the three prongs of that vision.

First, I encourage each member to strengthen or develop his or her Spirituality or Spiritual life. The apostle Paul was passionately committed to God.  When he stated in Philippians 3:10, “that I may know him”, I am convinced that this was his utmost desire. I firmly believe that this is the greatest resolution any of us can make for this New Year.

Knowing Jesus intimately is the most transforming, empowering, joyful way of life that humans can experience. It is the purpose for which we were made, and nothing else can take its place.

So, how can we know Jesus more intimately this year?  We must intentionally develop our relationship with Him through personal surrender, prayer, bible study and leaning on Jesus each day for the power to overcome the challenges and vicissitudes of life.

Secondly, we must evangelize our Bahamaland.  We have a golden opportunity during the upcoming Lord Transform Me Reaping Campaigns.  Each of us must do our part in witnessing to our friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members.  You can begin today by inviting them to church or engaging them in Bible study, in preparation for the individual church’s reaping campaign.  Remember to always be kind, courteous and loving, so that they may see Christ’s character reflected in you.

Finally, as God blesses you in 2019, be faithful to Him.  Challenge God with His word in Malachi 3:10 and put Him to the test.  Return a faithful Tithe and Offering and see how God will honor His word.

I encourage you to also dedicate your talents, time, and temple to God, for they all belong Him.  God has only entrusted these treasures to us as His stewards.  Let us be faithful because He has promised to open the windows of heaven and pour out an abundance of blessings that we will not have room enough to receive them.

As you move forward in 2019, I implore you to fully surrender your entire life over to His will and place your trust in Him completely.

--Pastor Kenny Deveaux, President
