Damaged Tower Now Restored
[ Oct 14, 2016 ] During Hurricane Matthew our radio tower for WORD SBC 88.3 FM was damaged. Thankfully, on Friday, October 14, 2016, with the help of Anthony Whylly, Danhugh Gordon and Mr. Evans, our radio transmission is now restored. The radio antenna has been temporarily replaced on top of the base of the existing tower until we are able to acquire a much higher and stronger tower. Consequently, some listeners may experience a drop in signal in some areas of Nassau but please be patient with us as we continue to provide this ministry for your spiritual edification. Lavern Sturrup, Radio Coordinator of WORD SBC 88.3FM has resumed local programming as of Monday October 17, 2016; and has assured us that our programs will continue to be a source of comfort and hope during these challenging times. Please continue to prayer for and support our radio ministry.
Hope TV On Channel 658 Alone as of July 7, 2016
As of July 7, 2016, Cable Bahamas will be making channel adjustments. This includes all channels between channels 5 to 56. Hence, HopeTV, our Adventist Television channel, will be moved to Channel 658 on July 7. This is a part of Cable Bahamas upgrade. The channels 5 to 56 will no longer be in use. HopeTV658 remains a part of the basic, free package. 3ABN remains on channel 653 as a subscription package. Also this week our satellite dish was re-positioned to a new Satellite by Cable Bahamas. This dish provides our local feed to Cable Bahamas. Note carefully that this change of the channel for HopeTV is not the decision or request of the Conference. It is totally decision by Cable Bahamas. The Communication Department of the South Bahamas Conference is doing its best to serve you.
