Ground Breaking for Adelaide Church
Monday, October 1, 2018
On Sunday morning, September 30, 2018, Pastor Danhugh Gordon was a very happy man. Why? Because the church that he leads--the Adalaide Seventh-day Adventist Church, broke ground for the construction of their very own church building. For more than ten years the members faithfully congregated in the Adelaide Public School and for the last year they have been worshipping under a tent. Hope blazed in the hearts of members and supporters alike as they verbally shared evidences of the Lord’s leading over the years and watched with excitement as Pastors Paul Scavella and Peter Joseph, South Bahamas conference leaders, Pastor Danhugh Gordon, the current pastor and Lester Flowers the first elder, symbolically turned the soil with decorated shovels. It was certainly a joyous time for the members of Adelaide Seventh-day Adventist Church. The church is located in one of the oldest and most remote villages on the Island of New Providence.
