Logos for November 30, 2019--The Bible: Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life. There is a distinction between Bible reading and Bible study. The former relates to reading as one would any document. The Bible year plan is an example of Bible reading. Our concern today relates to Bible Study. This is the ability to read, analyze systematize and draw conclusions from what one has read. There are approaches to Bible study that can be used in seeking to understand the text.

Logos for November 23, 2019--Children's Day: Ministering For Eternity. Our churches should be a place where the children can feel loved accepted and safe. A place where they not only learn about the Bible but experience it in order to grow spiritually. Our ministry to them must be one that provides worship, teaching and fun activities that expose them to the word of God and challenge them to develop a meaningful relationship with Him. This can only be realized if at our churches we have ‘missionary volunteers’ who are passionate and eager to be the vehicle in molding these young minds.

Times (March 21, 201, the average American household contains 300,000 items, how far will this go? Many of my friends were so happy and satisfied with their smartphones, until the latest iPhone or Android series showed up. I wonder what they will do when this newer version will no longer be the latest? There are many explanations for that reality, but the underlying issue goes beyond the appeal for new inventions. Something more fundamental is at play: contentment, a state of mind that can also infiltrate other areas of life.

Logos for November 9, 2019--Week Of Prayer – Lessons On Prayer The temptations to which we are daily exposed make prayer a necessity. Dangers beset every path. Those who are seeking to rescue others from vice and ruin are especially exposed to temptation. In constant contact with evil, they need a strong hold upon God lest they themselves be corrupted. Short and decisive are the steps that lead men down from high and holy ground to a low level. In a moment, decisions may be made that fix one’s condition forever. One failure to overcome leaves the soul unguarded. One evil habit, if not firmly resisted, will strengthen into chains of steel, binding the whole man.

Logos for November 2, 2019-- A Call To Live A Life Committed To Prayer In 1989 the winds of freedom were sweeping across Europe and many of the totalitarian regimes were crumbling like sandcastles when hit by waves of the sea. One of the most totalitarian governments in eastern Europe was the regime in eastern Germany. This regime was particularly harsh in dealing with dissenters. It was in 1985 that a small group of Christians formed a church in Germany and thus started a prayer movement. Even though initially the movement was small they met consistently, faithfully, every Monday evening.
